The popular three-part visual novel written by Isuna Hasekura is being translated to English by the translation group Sekai Project via Kickstarter. The visual novel is set in the far future on the moon during a time of great opportunity. It's science fiction mashed up with economics and it works.
The synopsis as given on the Kickstarter:
Written by Isuna Hasekura, the author of Spice and Wolf, WORLD END ECONOMiCA is a three part visual novel set in the far future on the moon, 16 years after humans have begun to colonize it. A young boy named Haru has been chasing his wildest dream — to stand where no man has stood before. To do so he needs capital... a ludicrous amount of capital. What better place to get that much money than by using the stock market?
World End Economica was made by a doujin group (Spicy Tails) made up of talents like Isuna Hasekura, Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets (the rock band behind the openings in Highschool of the Dead, Strike the Blood), and several respected artists and sound artists. Here is just a taste what The Akeboshi Rockets and opening movie artist Ryuuka have brought to Economica:
The Kickstarter is being made to translate the final two parts of the visual novel into English after the success of the first part on Steam.
The Kickstarter has already succeeded in its $22,000 goal and now it's just a matter of how far it will get in stretch goals. At this writing it sits at ~$36,000 of funding. Needless to say, I've already thrown in my lot with it, I loved Spice and Wolf. If we get to $100k, it comes to most platforms via Unity (that includes iOS and the Playstation VITA).
I didn't even know about this until right now, so I felt the need to spread the word. You can find it here.
