Did you know that you can buy Little Witch Academia on Blu-ray? Well I found out a couple weeks ago. Still feeling the hype from Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade, and having some birthday money, I bought this on an impulse.
Being the Trigger fan I am, no price is unreasonable for the right to say “I own it.” In this case, that means spending $50 on the Blu-ray itself, but since the company that distributes this in NA actually imports it from Japan you end up spending an extra $20 for shipping. Overall, it’s a $70 value, though you do get a good amount of content for what you pay for. All in all, you get this;
First off, you get a neat art book that comes with an art sleeve (I don’t know what it’s actually called) wrapping around the book that has Little Witch’s iconic line,
Here’s some of the designs and artwork along with a few interviews from the book.
Can’t read Japanese? No problem, the black book is actually an English translation of the mini interviews in the art book.
Now to the actual Blu-ray. The Blu-ray doesn’t come in your standard case, instead you get a really nifty cardboard book like case that’s sturdy and feels nice to hold.
Here’s the cover.
And the back.
In addition to the Blu-ray, you also get the original soundtrack, which is awesome. It has really awesome Disney-like music.
Overall, it’s a really nice set that comes with a lot of the standard stuff you’d find in many collectors editions. I think it’s worth every penny for any Little Witch Academia fan. Now to start saving for the sequel.
