Last month, I shared the announcement of the nominees for the Tokyo Anime Award Festival's Film and TV Anime of the Year awards, and now we know what the winners of the two awards were.
For the Film award, in what I am sure will be a controversial decision to those outside of Japan, it went to run away financial freight train that is Frozen. Disney's cash cow wins the award over The Tale of Princess Kaguya, Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn Episode 7: Over the Rainbow, and Stand by Me Doraemon.
As for the TV award, it went to Masaaki Yuasa's critical darling from 2014, Ping Pong the Animation, beating out fellow Spring 2014 shows Knights of Sidonia and Love Live! Season 2, as well as the ever popular Yo-Kai Watch.
