Douluo Dalu 2

Preview Author: Raitzeno

Type: Sequel

Studio: Tencent Penguin Pictures / Sparkly Key Animation Studio

Genre(s):Action, Fantasy, Martial Arts, LN Adaptation, Isekai, Xianxia

About the Series: Tang San spent his life in the Tang Outer Sect, dedicated to the creation and mastery of hidden weapons. Once he stole the secret lore of the Inner Sect to reach the pinnacle of his art, his only way out was death. But after throwing himself off the deadly Hell’s Peak, he was reborn in a different world, the world of Douluo Dalu, a world where every person has a spirit of their own, and those with powerful spirits can practice their spirit power to rise and become Spirit Masters.

While Tang San’s spirit is Blue Silver Grass, a spirit deemed ‘useless’, his cunning strategies and hidden weapon-based martial arts make it a powerful Control-type spirit, which makes him an unholy terror after discovering he has the incredibly rare gift of Twin Spirits—while also inheriting his father’s Clear Sky Hammer spirit. This season, Tang San and his similarly monstrous classmates at Shrek Academy (yes, really) join the Elite Tournament…

Douluo Dalu (or Soul Land / Combat Continent) is a web animation in surprisingly well-done CGI. It looks like it’s straight out of a AAA video game, though maybe not a 2018 AAA game. Its animation is surprisingly fluid, and the main character is actually a pretty decent person for being the protagonist of a Chinese novel. The show faithfully adapts the original novel (and not the manwha adaptation, which chopped it up with flat-out stupid censorship and eventually diverged from major events entirely), which is good because the novel is a blast, if a bit wordy. If you get annoyed at explanations of what just happened in a fight, steer clear, but this show is otherwise pretty lucid for a Xianxia (a heavily-supernatural martial arts series, for those unfamiliar, though there’s more to the genre).

MARVELous-Hype-Answer: (Iron Man)

Please contact your local office of Stark Industries with your job application. You’re welcome on board anytime, mister Tang San.

MARVELous-Hype-Answer: (Taneleer Tivan - The Collector)

It’s shame Hanae Ahiya had to ask Haruitsuki Abeno to help him with his Youkai problem. Had he meet The Collector, Taneleer would probably help him to get rid of the supernatural creatures for free or even paid him—those things are probably something he’s missing in his collection.

Time to Catch Up: 5 hours approx. (1 season comprising 13 episodes)

What You Need to Watch: Fukigen na Mononokean Tsuzuki (required)

About the Series:The “Toji” Shrine maidens have the mission of saving the world from the “Aratama”, the malevolent beings who try to destroy humankind. This story is not about that, however, but rather about some crazy and funny misadventures of the characters!

MARVELous-Hype-Answer: (War Machine)

Mini Toji is far too similar to War Machine. Everyone expects Katana Maidens or Iron Man, but they only get a cheap and chibi version of what people desire.

Mob Psycho 100 II

About the Series: Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama, is an average student with a singularity, he is a psychic; sadly his powers has been a detriment and even the various tricks he can do are boring to his peers, especially his crush, Tsubomi.
For that he joins the Psychic (who in reality is nothing of the sort) and so his life filled with exorcism and other super natural events starts!

MARVELous-Hype-Answer: (Wanda Maximoff - Scarlet Witch)

Nobody sees Scarlet Witch as a boring character - they either hate her and fight her or pat her on back for a good job done. Maybe she can teach “Mob” a trick or to how to get some fans.

Now, before any person with some knowledge of Saint Seiya asks the same questions: No, it’s not a genderbent story, and yes, Seiya and the other Bronze characters appears at some point in the story. What you get is a Saint Seiya story, just that the ones who fight are girls instead of guys. That means a lot of exciting fights, lots of passion, messages about brotherhood/sisterhood, a bunch of troubled pasts, and little to no romantic relationships. So you can rest easy…
