I’m starting to watch a lot more of this seasons shows since a lot of them are reaching the halfway point in their runs. It gives me more episodes to watch and decide whether or not I will continue to watch until the end. After Konosuba 2(Yes, I started watching it and I love it.), Masamune-kun’s Revenge was next on my hit list, and it hasn’t disappointed me.

The premise of the show is that fatty turned hot guy named Masamune transfers to a school and meets the girl who coldly rejected him when they were kids, and he decides to take vengeance upon her since she doesn’t recognize him since he changed his name. His plan is to get her to fall in love with him and then proceed to dump her and give her a taste of her own medicine. However, whether or not he’ll even get that far and NOT fall in love with her is up for debate, and is made especially hard by the fact that other girls are falling for him and taking his attention away from Adagaki Aki.

After watching the current 6 episodes I have to say that it just keeps sucking me in because I want to see how far he’ll get, how far he’ll go to get there, and to see how others will screw up his plans. It’s a funny show and that is what makes it so interesting. The dynamics between the characters are great and it isn’t every day that you get a protagonist that you could sort of tilt towards the anti-hero side of the scale. Couple that with a decent artstyle and animation, good sound, and you’ve got a recipe for a show that is worth continuing to watch for the rest of its run this season, even if I know it’ll have an ending that’ll force me to read the manga.
