Each and everyone of us has that one show that we can’t wait to hear the announcement for its next season. So, my question for you this week is: which anime needs to have its next season announced as soon as possible?
Additionally, are there any shows that you still hold out hope will one day get another season, even though you know the chances are basically zero?
For me, the answer to the first question would be Chihayafuru, which received a live action movie announcement just a few months ago. Based on a manga series by Suetsugu Yuki, Chihayafuru has already received two fantastic 25-episode seasons so far, with the last airing in the Spring of 2013. Though marketed as a romance manga, it is really more about the sport of competative Karuta, as the love triangle of our leads often takes a back seat to the near single minded obsession, to become the best female player in Japan and thus the world, of the main character Ayase Chihaya. Madhouse, once you wrap up this season of OreMon you best get on this.
Yep, you got two articles from me about Chihayafuru this week.
As for the show I know will not get another season, but I will never give up on, that goes to Spice & Wolf. Having received two one-cour seasons in 2008 and 2009 it looks like there is no longer a chance that we will see a third, one of the reasons that I picked up the LNs and am now eagerly awaiting the last three volumes of the series.
Last week’s question:
If you have any ideas for future questions of the week feel free to leave them in the comments, otherwise, see you next Friday.
