Here we go again. Tomorrow the Fall anime season will be starting. This time I'm getting a head start and forming the team early, that way we can all get committed to enjoying the season. So far many of the last collaboration's members are returning a second (and in some cases third) time.
UPDATE (09/28/2014): Due to the expected large turnout, I'm closing recruitment for now.
This time I'm shooting for ten shows in all, subject to change, with all the same refinements we made last time.
All communication must take place on Skype, barring special cases. It's far more enjoyable to be part of these discussions in real time. Be aware that a Microsoft account can be used for Skype.
Further, like last time:
There will be three rounds of show selection. The first round will be an open vote to determine the shows of the season that we should be watching. The exact number of shows that make it is up to me. The second round will be a rapid-fire discussion where we discuss the merits of each show by order of number of votes received. The third round will be a brief time (one/two days) where any show that didn't make the cut can be resubmitted by any member of the collaboration (if you really think we need to add it, either because it was missed in the first round or we're all just terrible people who didn't vote for it). Again, most of this will be at my discretion.
Most discussion will take place asynchronously: which is to say that the discussions will start with whoever is currently on starting the arguments and the arguments will remain open for at least a day afterward.
Other items are also carrying over with slight changes:
- I am aiming for a release on the final article between episode 6 and 7, or the halfway point of the season.
- I will be splitting up the job of writing each synopsis and "why you should be watching segment" between the collaborators. Last time nearly everyone was able to contribute to the writing in some way due to impromptu collaborations on writing the sections.
- Ultimately I will retain most of the power here, but I will be as impartial as possible. I will make spelling/grammar edits as I see fit and be the final gatekeeper on which shows eventually are allowed through. It's a necessary evil to make sure that we actually get things done, as the previous collaborators will probably attest to.
