Everything Anime and Beyond

AniTAY Drop: 4/25/2019 to 6/1/2019

We’ve had a good amount anime this Spring season, but with the Summer season right around the corner, I’m having trouble focusing on the Spring anime. The Summer anime I’m interested in the most at the moment is the new MAPPA show To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts.

TASB has my attention because of its themes, setting, and its characters. I’m confident MAPPA will do a great job interpreting the post US civil war setting because of how they handled the US setting in Garo Vanishing Line. After reading the first volume of TABS, I’m interested to see how the show will adapt the themes of soldiers finding their place in a peacetime society. Also, the main characters are fun and interesting in that they have distinct personalities, but enough empathy to give them depth when dealing with situations that challenge their current world view. I can’t wait for the new season of anime to come out and I can’t wait to be impressed or disappointed in what ever new shows come out.
