In my spare time, I like to find interesting mangas that haven’t been licensed in the US. It’s just nice to find an obscure manga series that no one has heard of yet because I feel that I discovered something that no one else has seen.

On that note, I was skimming the manga subreddit over the weekend and when I noticed the title The Blue Eye of Horus. I couldn’t help but be intrigued by the manga because only a handful of manga or anime has covered ancient Egyptian history (no Yu Gi Oh season 1 doesn’t count).

Anyways, The Blue Eye of Horus follows the young queen Egyptian queen Hatshepsut as she tries to build a better Egypt while having to deal with the fact that her ambition and vision for Egypt don’t fit her role in society. The execution of this premise is simply sublime as the mangka did a fantastic job of fleshing out all the characters in the manga. Plus the artistry of Egyptian clothing and architecture is a treat for the eyes.

If you have the time, I would highly recommend you check out the series in some way because you won’t see many other mangas or animes do what The Blue Eye of Horus does.

Anyways, what’re some of your favorite obscure manga out in the world? If you share yours, I’ll share more of mine.
