If you’ve been wondering just who Goose house are, this is the definitive guide you should be reading!

Goose house has broken out in a big way over the past couple of years, with their songs Oto No Naru Hou E (featured in Silver Spoon) and Hikaru Nara (featured in Your Lie in April) charting highly on Oricon. This continued wit the release of their two new albums Milk and Bitter.

Sadly it isn’t easy to find a comprehensive source of information on them in English, so this guide aims to be the comprehensive source for new Goose house fans looking for info. Come along for the ride!

Goose house has a long history: Here they are in 2010 performing their first original song “Sing” (They have probably performed it 15 times since then):

Here they are in September 2014 performing the same song (they tend to play this song every now and then):

And here they are in November 2015 performing it again:

Holy improvement Batman! It’s amazing to see how far the group has come.

The following information is based on a variety of sources: the main one being an awesome tumblr blog called Housemate, thanks need to go out him for providing such good resources on the band.

How was Goose house Formed?

Goose house began in 2010 as PlayYou.House, a project sponsored by Sony with the objective of bringing together a group of fledging musicians to perform weekly live on a variety of digital platforms including UStream and Youtube. The first season, PlayYou.House Season 1 lasted from June 19th 2010 until August 21st 2010 and was followed by a second season lasting from October 10th 2010 - March 11th 2011. After this initial run the project finished but the members decided to carry on, reforming as Goose house in April 2011, with their first live stream taking place on May 7th 2011.

Goose house’s Release Schedule - The Basics:

Since their reformation as Goose house, the group currently holds a livestream on Ustream once a month where they perform from 5-7 different songs. Not all of the members participate in each song, but each livestream usually features at least one bigger song all members are present for. The biggest (and usually original) songs are usually kept for last. The final livestream of the year in December is called House of the Year (HOY), which features Goose house performing their top covers of the past year as voted for by fans in an online poll.

The songs are then released individually about a week later on their Youtube channel:

How to Buy From the Goose house Web Store:

Goose house operates a webstore where they sell a variety of apparel and other merchandise. They don’t ship outside of Japan or take credit cards, necessitating a bit of creativity if you want to buy from them. Here’s what to do.

1. Decide what you want, keep in mind that sizes run small so order a size up especially if you are a guy.

2. Use http://www.j-goods.net/proxy/en/index… proxy buying service. You fill out their form with all the information, and they will order the product for you and mail it straight to you once they get it. They provide a very useful fee estimator to see all the costs up front, and accept Paypal. I ordered a Goose house toque using their service for shipping to Canada and have no complaints at all.
