I have a bit of a habit of checking out shows that are so clearly bad that I question why I bother booting up the first episode. I do this because I am morbidly curious if the show is as bad it appears. Unfortunately, Ulyssyes: Jeanne D’Arc and The Alchemist Knight is as bad as it looks.

With a quick glance, you can tell this show is an adaptation of a light novel that plays closely to the tropes of many light novel contemporaries. When you actually the show, it gets significantly worse. The way the show establishes and uses its villains is some of the worst writing I’ve seen and a while. Plus, the character designs are incredibly stupid especially considering that the show is supposed to be set during the hundred years war. I can go on and on about the show’s faults, but I have to wonder how who thought this light novel would make a good anime.

Anyways, what show did you decide to check out despite your misgivings and then the show confirmed your initial misgivings.
