A Message to the AniTAY Community

Hello everyone! If you’re reading this, you’ve probably visited this website at least a couple of times or so. Maybe you’ve visited more. Maybe you refresh the page ten times a day, like me.

AniTAY has always been a very special group of anime/Japanese media fans coming together to talk about our favorite stuff, and we couldn’t be the group we are today without the community of readers, commenters, and writers alike. I’ve spent the past two years writing for AniTAY and I can still say with certainty that some of the most exciting moments are when new people join. It’s something both great for us and, in my biased opinion, great for you. AniTAY’s strength as a community grows with each new active participant. I think every member has their own individual story about how they got involved in the AniTAY community, and even though all of these stories are very different, they all have one thing in common: “One day, I decided to comment for the first time”. With this in mind and with the review season for Winter 2016 here, I’d like to make a request:

If you’re a lurker, I’d like to ask you to make this your first time, and try to comment on something that gets posted in the next couple of weeks.

Maybe you want to comment on this article. Maybe you want to comment on the upcoming review of your favorite show from this season. Maybe you want to try your hand at writing for AniTAY. This is a prime time to give it a shot!

That’s not to say that you have to. Not all all. I know for a fact that some people just enjoy quietly reading things that are posted here, and if that is you then that is fine. However, if you have ever felt the urge to comment, I highly encourage you to try to do so, even if you do it on this post itself or message me individually. I’m hoping to meet a couple of you for the first time in the comments!
