Today's Special:

Today's special comes courtesy of Koda.

Ever had a show that started out a bit underwhelming and eventually managed to be good or even great? For me that was Fafner in the Azure: Dead Aggressor.

It was a pretty unimpressive show in the first episodes. To put it lightly, it felt like a Gundam/Evangelion clone. It continued like that for a little while before it started to morph into something a little deeper. It took on the ramifications of being a child soldier and the effects that it would have on not just the pilots themselves, but the people around them. I really enjoyed the subtext that it delved into later on in the season, so much that I really do hold it as one of my favorite one-off mecha shows. I don't exactly go around recommending it, but I did love it.

Despite coming out ten years ago, there's also a new Fafner series on its way for the Winter season. You all know what I'll be watching.

Don't like today's special? Well there's plenty on the menu, so take a walk around the Café and talk with the other customers. Talk about anything.
