Title: Period | Artist: Chemistry | Show: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Holy crap, Koda’s doing a more modern OP/ED? Well the reason for this is mainly because we have no theme for this month, so I decided to make a pun-based theme for my choices, so my OP/EDs in the month of May will all be from my favorite anime/manga franchise, Fullmetal Alchemist because for me it is Fullmaytal Alchemist(eh, eh, get it? Wait....where are all of you going? Please come back! ;-;). First up will be my favorite opening from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, the fourth opening “Period” by Chemistry:

I just love everything about this opening. From the beginning with Ed and Al searching for each other, but not quite having their paths cross, to them running into their respective love interests, which expand to their allies, and then to everyone they’ve ever met on their journey. And then we get to the chorus of the song, and let me tell you something, the chorus to “Period” is one of the hypest choruses in any anime opening song in my eyes. First we have Ed and Al fighting Pride, then we have Greedling and Wrath fighting, then we get the remaining Xingese fighting Envy, and as if that wasn’t enough, we get Sloth vs. Fort Briggs with Kimblee sliding in from off screen like the smooth ass son of a bitch he is.

And like always, the full version, which, imo, is even more hype than the shortened version used in the opening.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood has one of the strongest collections of openings and endings in anime, so it is really hard to say which one is actually the best, especially since taste varies from person to person, but for my money, this is my favorite opening of the bunch. Next time it is my turn this month, I’ll share my favorite ending for Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
