Title: EXiSTENCE | Artist: SiM | Show: Rage of Bahamut: Genesis

It's my birthday! Yaaaay! To celebrate, I'm doing one of my very favorite openings.

Rage of Bahamut: Genesis was for me the embodiment of my love for tabletop role playing games. It had lots of fantasy tropes, but pulled off in a perfectly classic way such that you revel in the familiar rather than tiring of it. The vibes of Jack Sparrow you got from the main character, Favaro, were also appreciated.

This opening though. I love it. The Engrish is actually too bad most of the time, it gets kinda unintelligible at times, but I didn't feel like it took away from the song too much. (I actually enjoy some cheesy Engrish now and again - full disclosure.) The heavy rock and screamo of this song are very unique for anime openings and so if nothing else, EXiSTENCE is a very memorable song. (Kind of reminds me of the Trigun opening...)

Furthermore I really enjoyed the visuals. The pulsing logo with the flares of color in the background accompanied by the guitar... Holy crap that get me hyped for the episode every time. The storybook/wanted poster style of art mixed with the normal animation also pushed the whole traditional fantasy setting that I loved so much. Overall just one of my favorite openings of all time, give it a listen if you haven't already.

Yeah I'm just a guy who likes anime. I'm relatively new to the Ani-Tay community, but I've been an fan of the medium for four or five years now. I like a pretty wide variety of shows and games, and honestly if anything I need to be more critical of what I watch/play, I'm too easy on them~

I particularly enjoy analyzing music and sound design, so that's what most of my content here will most likely be, between OP/ED of the Day and my own ramblings.
