One of the biggest omissions in anime history is being corrected next year.

Yes, Godzilla is finally getting an anime adaptation, and it looks like it might actually be good. Directed by Kobun Shizuno and Hiroyuki Seshita (who’ve previously worked on Knights of Sidonia and Ajin respectively), Godzilla will be produced by the studio Polygon Pictures (which also produced Knights of Sidonia and Ajin). Best of all however, is that Gen Urobuchi (who’s best known for Thunderbolt Fantasy (which is currently airing and is freaking awesome), Psycho-Pass, and Madoka Magica) is writing it.

Three films with the Big G in the span of four years, all from different production companies... that dinosaur’s doing pretty well for a guy in his early sixties.
