This week's Assassination Classroom came at an opportune time, as I just discovered that the series actually had an OVA back in 2013 that adapted the same chapter in the manga. Although it was made only a short time ago, the animation quality is lacking (budget, am I right?) even though it was handled by the studio Brain's Base (My Teenage Romantic Comedy SNAFU, Kawai Complex Guide to Manors and Hostel Behavior). the adaptations are relatively similar. Here's a look in the first few minutes:

As you can see, the newer version is the definitive one. I think it's nice to have this comparison, because it really emphasizes, in my mind, the good work of the studio behind the current version, Lerche, since even though the old version is fun to watch, the new version is vastly superior.
