....Well uh, I thought Sharknado would be hard to top, but GYO man. The only thing I can say is Wow. Thanks for joining us for Movie Weekend, we’ll be back soon with a new edition!

What’s going on AniTAY? We’ve got another AniTAY movie weekend coming up and, well, we’ve seen enough great films so it’s time to delve back into the absurd. This weekend, we will be watching Sharknado (yes, THE Sharknado) on Friday, March 11 at 10 PM EST and GYO: Tokyo Fish Attack on Saturday March 12 at 9 PM EST.

Ever since the new year started, we’ve been treated to some truly excellent and/or thought provoking films in the Madoka films, the EVA rebuilds and some Makoto Shinkai films as well. But we have never expressly stated we will watch only the best of the best. And sometimes you need something to give perspective to those amazing films. So we’re having our own sort of an AniTAY shark weekend to truly enjoy some of the most spectacularly absurd and ludicrous films out there.

Sharknado

When a freak hurricane swamps Los Angeles, nature’s deadliest killer rules sea, land, and air as thousands of sharks terrorize the waterlogged populace. (Source - IMDB)

GYO: Tokyo Fish Attack

Something in Okinawa reeks, and it isn’t long before Kaori and her friends realize that the smell is coming from dead fish, which are walking out of the sea. The fish are fused to metal legs and are infected with a disease contractable by humans that was invented as a weapon by unknown sources. After what happens to Tadashi, Kaori finds herself in a new world very much like the old one but with the stench of death. ( Source - MAL)
